The vast majority of air-conditioned clothing products on the market use miniature brushless DC motors, mainly for the following reasons:

  • Battery life: Brushless DC motors offer high efficiency and longer battery life, which is critical for air-conditioned clothing that requires a small portable battery pack.
  • Noise control: Brushless DC motors generate lower friction and electromagnetic noise during operation, and noise control directly affects wearing comfort.
  • Size and weight: Brushless DC motors can be made very thin and light, making them suitable for integration into garments.
  • Durability and reliability: Brushless DC motors have no carbon brush wear and typically last thousands of hours. Air-conditioned clothing requires high durability due to repeated wearing, folding, and washing.
  • Easy speed control: Brushless DC motors allow simple speed adjustment to match different temperature perception needs.

Key features of the 20M series motor

  • Structural protection: Housed design, basic dust resistance (no waterproof rating).
  • Performance improvement: Higher output than the 13H, especially capable of higher torque (increased from 3 mNm to 5 mNm).
  • Drive advantage: Supports battery drive with an expanded voltage range of 5 V to 18 V.
  • Internal construction: Uses sleeve bearings (oil-impregnated bearings), with built-in driver IC.
