URD (Ultra Reliable Dynamic Bearing) is an oil-film/fluid dynamic sliding bearing solution internally developed by Nidec. It replaces ball bearings with an oil film and is essentially part of the FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) family.

The URD bearing is a high-performance, active liquid bearing system based on the hydrodynamic principle. In essence, it belongs to the FDB (Fluid Dynamic Bearing) family.
